Sexual Harassment Awareness Program in DAV Centenary College

Women Cell of D.A.V. Centenary College organised an awareness Program on Sexual Harassment for the Prohibition, prevention and deterioration of the sexual harassment acts in the society and at workplace. The Program was organised under the able guidance of the officiating Principal of the college Dr. VijayWanti. The Convener of the Women Cell Dr. Archana Bhatia explained the purpose of the program by familiarising the students with women harassment scenario in the South Asian countries. She pointed to the alarming need to reduce the gender gap. The Resource Person for the day Ms. Chaitali Wadhwa, Assistant Professor, School of Law, Manav Rachna University, Faridabad delivered a lecture on Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) Act.She highlighted all the dimensions of sexual-harassment at the workplace and the legal protective measures against these harassments. Dr. VijayWanti discussed about the importance of strong Character building irrespective of the gender and being in behavioural limit in a dignified manner. On this occasion, all the members of Women Cell Dr. Lalita Dhingra, Dr. Sonia Narula, Dr. Priti Jha, Dr. Suman Taneja, Ms. Suman Garg, Ms. Uttama, Ms. Tanu were also present. The session ended with a formal vote of thanks. Altogether 140 Participants including the College teaching and non-teaching staff and students attended the program.
