PHYSICS EXTENSION LECTURE

The Department of Science &Science Galaxy of DAV Centenary College Faridabad organized an Extension Lecture on the topic "Basics of Mechanics" for B.Sc 1 st Year Students. This lecture was delivered by Prof. Dinesh Kumar Sharma, Department of Physics, Manav Rachna University Faridabad (Haryana). He is one of the most respected and renowned figure in the field of Physics and Research. He has an experience of 15 years of teaching at graduate and post graduate level. He has guided 4 Ph.D Students in the field of Physics. He is also Controller of Examination of the University. Dr. Priya Kapoor, Dean, Department of Science welcomed the speaker and said that the scientific worldview has freed us from prejudice and ignorance. She encouraged and motivated the students to observe and experiment the physics related with various natural phenomena. This extension lecture focused on the solar system, stars, black holes, atomic and subatomic particles and many more phenomenon related to basics of Mechanics. The lecture was very educative and informative for the students. Prof. Sharma clarified the difference between the Mechanical and Non Mechanical waves also. At the end of the session students raised many queries related to the talk and how to pursue in the field. Dr. Sharma made students aware of various career options in the field of space physics after graduation. This lecture was coordinated by Ms. Pooja Sharma, Assistant Professor, Physics Department Dr. Raj Kumari, Assistant Professor, Physics Department and Mr. Pankaj Kumar Sharma, Assistant Professor, Physics Department. About 60 students participated in this lecture. The program was well conducted by Ms. Pooja Sharma.
