Remarkable Himachal:- Educational Tour Organized by Tourism Department in DAV Centenary College* The Tourism Department of DAV Centenary College recently organized a week-long Educational Tour for its students, providing them with a comprehensive learning experience in the field of tourism. The tour covered various prominent destinations in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, offering students valuable insights into the diverse aspects of tourism. 02 teachers and approximately 30 students embarked on this enriching journey, which included visits to iconic landmarks such as the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Dalhousie, Dharamshala, Khajjiar, Chamba, Chintpurni Temple, Baglamukhi Temple, Kangra Devi Temple, Kala Top Wildlife Sanctuary, Dharamshala Cricket Ground, Bhagsunag Temple & Waterfall, and Daind Kund in Himachal Pradesh. During the tour, students engaged in research work focusing on the various impacts of tourism, including Environmental, Social, Cultural, and Economic aspects. This hands-on approach allowed students to gain practical insights into the complexities of the tourism industry and its effects on different facets of society. The trip was meticulously organized by Amit Kumar, who ensured seamless coordination of all aspects and services throughout the journey. Ms. Rishita Mishra, serving as the teacher in-charge for the female students, played a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants. Emphasizing the importance of such educational tours, Dr. Vijaywanti, the Principal of DAV Centenary College, highlighted the institution's commitment to providing practical exposure to students alongside theoretical knowledge. She expressed pride in the students' proactive engagement and encouraged more such initiatives in the future. The tour featured adventurous activities such as trekking, camping, river crossing, and more, providing students with an adrenaline-filled experience while fostering team spirit and resilience. Upon the successful completion of the journey, the Co-ordinator- Dr. Ruchi Arora and Dean- Dr. Nisha Singh of the Tourism Department commended the students and teacher in-charges for their dedication and enthusiasm throughout the tour. Such initiatives not only enhance students' understanding of tourism but also prepare them for real-world challenges in the industry.
