Celebration of 200th Birth Anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati

The 200th birth anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, the founder of Arya Samaj, The Change Leader, Strong National Reformer, was celebrated as a big Vedic festival. On this occasion, an effort was made to make Swamiji's message of world peace and welfare meaningful by organizing one hundred eleven Kund Mahayagya in the premises of D.A.V. Centenary College . This Mahayagya was performed under the blessings and guidance of Arya Ratna Padmashree Poonam Suri ji, President of DAV College Management Committee and Arya Pradeshiya Pratinidhi Sabha, New Delhi. Anand Mehta, Chairman of K.L. Mehta Dayanand Sansthan, was the chief guest and Dr. Satish Ahuja, Principal Director DAVIM, attended the program as Chief guest.
Dr. Deepti Jagota, Dr. Jyoti Dahiya, Dr. Namita Sharma had an important contribution in organizing this Mahayagya. On this occasion, all the guests, teachers, non-academic staff and students offered offerings along with Vedic mantras in one hundred and eleven Havan Kunds in the college premises. Chief guest Anand Mehta, while describing Swamiji's high thoughts and visionary thinking, said that he was a strong supporter of women's education, empowerment and participation. Officiating Principal , Dr. Vijay Wanti expressed in her address that this Mahayagya has infused purity and new positive energy into the environment for the welfare of the entire living world.
D.A.V. Students from other schools of the institute gave a captivating musical presentation of Swamiji's thoughts and teachings. College Arya Samaj Unit Incharge and program coordinator Dr. Archana Singhal thanked everyone for participating in this Mahayagya. On this occasion, Dr. Suniti Ahuja, Dr. Archana Bhatia, Dr. Shivani Tanwar, Dr. Narendra Duggal, Dr. Jitendra Dhull along with all the professors, non-teaching staff and about five hundred students together were present in the program. After the Mahayagya, langar prasad was distributed as a blessing from Swamiji.
