DAV Centenary College Faridabad Celebrates World Tourism Day 2024 with a Vibrant Gujarat Showcase*
The Tourism Department of DAV Centenary College Faridabad organized a memorable event on World Tourism Day 2024, based on the global theme, “Tourism and Peace.” The college focused on the state of Gujarat with an event titled *Vibrant Gujarat*, giving students a chance to explore and learn about the state's rich culture, heritage, and tourism opportunities.
The students presented Gujarat’s culture through displays of its food, traditional clothing, festivals, and famous tourist spots like Gir National Park, Rann of Kutch, Dhordo Village, the Statue of Unity, and Narendra Modi Stadium. They also showcased Gujarat’s key industries, major ports, highways, and famous temples.
This event was designed to give students a virtual tour of Gujarat and practical experience in event management. It helped them improve important skills like teamwork, coordination, and general knowledge about tourism and different cultures.
The Chief Guest of the event, Dr. Amardeep Singh, Magistrate of the Juvenile Court in Faridabad, praised the students for their efforts. He told them, "Your knowledge and skills will make you stand out in life, so always keep learning and stay sharp."
Dr. Archana Bhatia, the Officiating Principal of DAV Centenary College Faridabad, appreciated the hard work of the Tourism Department and encouraged the students to keep growing and learning. She pointed out that this event was a great step in helping students prepare for their future careers.
The event was a big success under the leadership of Mr. Amit Kumar, Head of the Tourism Department. With his guidance and the cooperation between teachers and students, the event went smoothly. Students from different departments attended the event at different times, making it a great experience for everyone. The department teachers, Mr. Manjeet Singh, Ma'am Sharayu and Ma'am Himanshi put their efforts with dedication and hard work.
Events like these are a key part of the students’ education, giving them practical knowledge about event management and tourism. Through their creative stalls and presentations, the students showed their understanding of Gujarat’s tourism and made the event a great success.
