World Environment Day Celebration
DAV Centenary College celebrated ‘No Vehicle Day and Plantation Program’ on World Environment Day.
The NSS, NCC, Youth Red Cross and Environment Club of DAV Centenary College organized ‘No Vehicle Day and Plantation Program’ on World Environment Day. The objective of this program was to promote road safety and public transport service and to prevent air pollution as well as to encourage the creation of a healthy environment.
Apart from this, a special lecture on the importance of circular economy and the increasing need for green hydrogen was organized for NCC cadets by CTO Netra Pal.
The Cadets of the NCC unit planted trees in the college premises under the Guidance of the Officiating Principal of the college Dr. Archana Bhatia.
Further in the series of events, all the teachers, non-teaching staff and students of the college organized a bicycle rally.
Dr Bhatia shared her views on the significance of awareness towards our environment and the alarming need to use more public transport instead of personal and being aware of the concepts of car pooling around us.
On this occasion DAV School Principal Dr Jyoti Dahiya, Youth Red Cross Boys Unit Counsellor Dinesh and Girls Unit Counsellor Omita Johar; NSS Girls Unit PO Kavita Sharma, NCC Boys Unit CTO Netra Pal and Girls Unit CTO Dr Rashmi; PRO Virendra Singh; other teachers, non-teaching staff and students were also present.
