one-day spiritual workshop on the theme “Recreation of Goswami Tulsidas Ji’s Poetic Works.”

The Spiritual Club of DAV Centenary College, in collaboration with the Jiva Group, organized a one-day spiritual workshop on the theme "Recreation of Goswami Tulsidas Ji's Poetic Works." The chief guest and keynote speaker for the event was Jiva Group Chairman, Rishipal Chauhan. During the workshop, Chauhan formally launched the book 'Nav Prerna - Sundar Kand', authored by Dr. Virendra Bhasin, former Dean of the BBA Department. This book includes Hindi Shlokas, the complete Sundar Kand, Hanuman Chalisa, Hanuman Ashtak, and Bajrang Baan, all of which follow the original compositions of Goswami Tulsidas. The transformation from the Awadhi language to the Hindi poetic style has been done nearly 400 years after Tulsidas Ji’s original composition. Officiating Principal, Dr. Archana Bhatia, congratulated Dr. Bhasin for creating this beautiful piece of literature for the welfare of society. She highlighted that this book would help those who struggle with reading, understanding, and correctly pronouncing the Sundar Kand from Goswami Tulsidas' Ramcharitmanas, which was originally written in Awadhi and Sanskrit. She encouraged all students to read this work. Dr. Virendra Bhasin, the author and resource person, expressed that this book is a lifetime achievement for him. He stated that it has been written to reach the masses and make Sundar Kand more comprehensible for them. In his address, the chief guest explained the mystery behind naming this section Sundar Kand. He shed light on topics such as deities and demons, knowledge, Ayodhya, Avadh, science, medicine, and the role of teachers, as described in Hindu scriptures. He emphasized that in today’s world, it is not enough to be educated; one must also be virtuous. He encouraged students to focus on learning rather than just reading—learning for oneself, for the family, and for the nation. Several teachers and students read Shlokas from the book and later participated in a discussion forum with the resource person. Students were also engaged in practical exercises and a Q&A session on how such literary works are created. The event, organized by Dr. Sonia Narula, saw the participation of around 100 students. Dr. Narula also hosted the program. Technical support was provided by Pramod Kumar, E.H. Ansari, and Virendra Singh, while media and reporting support was managed by Rachna Kasana, Radhika, Kritika, and students Tarun and Priyanshu.
