DAV Centenary College, Faridabad, observed World Environment Day with great enthusiasm through a series of eco-friendly initiatives organized by the Environment Club, NSS, YRC, and NCC under the aegis of IQAC.
A No Vehicle Day was observed to promote the use of sustainable modes of transport. All faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students were encouraged to avoid using private vehicles and instead commute via public transport, bicycles, or on foot. The initiative received wholehearted participation from the college community.
A plantation drive was conducted by NCC cadets and NSS volunteers near the college premises. Officiating Principal Dr. Narender Kumar inaugurated the activity by planting saplings and encouraged the students, cadets, volunteers, and faculty members to contribute actively towards environmental protection.
More than 30 students, cadets, and volunteers participated in the plantation activity and took a pledge to safeguard the environment.
The event was organized in the gracious presence of Dr. Neeraj Singh (Convener, Environment Club), Dr. Lalita Dhingra (Assistant IQAC Coordinator), Ms. Kavita Sharma (NSS Programme Officer), Mr. Dinesh Kumar (Counsellor, YRC), and Mr. Netrapal Sain (CTO, NCC).
