DAV Centenary College Celebrates 10th International Yoga Day
DAV Centenary College marked the 10th International Yoga Day on June 21, 2024, with a series of events organized by the Department of Physical Education, in collaboration with YRC, NSS, and NCC. The event was conducted under the guidance of the officiating Principal, Dr. Archana Bhatia.
Dr. Bhatia addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of Yoga and physical health in contemporary times. She highlighted how Yoga contributes to overall well-being and stress management. Dr. Narender Duggal, Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Education, provided an insightful explanation of Yoga's meaning and its importance. He guided the participants through various asanas such as Surya Namaskar, Anulom Vilom, and Kapalbhati.
The event saw active participation from around 35 students and faculty members. Among the attendees were Dr. Narender Duggal, Head of the Department of Physical Education; Mr. Dinesh, Youth Red Cross Boys Unit Counsellor; Ms. Omita Johar, Youth Red Cross Girls Unit Counsellor; Mr. Netrapal Sain, NCC Boys Unit CTO; Dr. Rashmi, NCC Girls Unit CTO; and Mr. Vijay Pal, TPO. Additionally, NCC cadets, YRC and NSS volunteers, and non-teaching staff were present, contributing to the event's success.
The celebration underscored the college's commitment to promoting physical fitness and mental well-being through the practice of Yoga.
