The Science Department of DAV Centenary College, Faridabad
organized an induction program for B.Sc. 1st year students on
26/10/2021. The convener of the program, Ms Pooja Sharma explained
how student induction program (SIP) help the students adjust and feel
comfortable in the new environment, inculcate in them the ethos and
culture of the institution, help them build bond with other students and
faculty members and expose them to a sense of larger purpose and self-
exploration.
The program started with DAV Gaan. Dr. Priya Kapoor, Dean
introduced the Science department, NCC, NSS, EMA, Sports and
various other activities of the college.
Chief guest of the program Dr. Savita Bhagat, Officiating Principal
emphasized that education must move towards less content and more
towards learning about how to think critically and solve problems. She
also asked the students to develop a scientific attitude. She explained
how the addiction of mobiles is harming the health of the students. She
also emphasised on the values like discipline and dedication which the
students should have.
A small cultural program was presented by the students of the
department. Ms Sujata, Convener of the program, proposed a vote of
thanks to the Principal Mam for her concern, constant guidance,
dynamic leadership and insightful address. She took the opportunity to
thank the faculty members for their unflinching support and coordination
to make it a success and to the students for their presence and
cooperation.
