EDP Cell Organizes Inspiring Session for UG Girl Students at DAV Centenary College, Faridabad*
On 17th September 2024, the 'Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) Cell' of DAV Centenary College, Faridabad successfully organized a one-hour extension lecture for undergraduate girl students, aimed at fostering entrepreneurial thinking. The session, titled:- "Journey from Zero to First Crore as a Candle Crafter" was delivered by Ms. Vernika Sapra, Director Marketing at Vardai.
Ms. Sapra, an inspiring entrepreneur, shared her personal journey of building a successful candle crafting business. She provided insightful guidance on the fundamental steps involved in setting up a business, focusing on the key requirements and strategies needed to transition from a small startup to a flourishing enterprise.
In her opening remarks, Dr. Archana Bhatia, the Officiating Principal of DAV Centenary College, warmly welcomed Ms. Sapra and emphasized the importance of such sessions in enhancing students' knowledge and skills. She commended the EDP Cell for regularly organizing 'Skill-based learning opportunities', which are crucial for students' holistic development. Dr Ruchi Arora, Overall SFS Coordinator was also present and motivated the students for the upcoming workshop.
Around 75 students actively participated in the session, gaining valuable insights into entrepreneurship and business setup.
As a follow-up to this lecture, a 'Hands-on workshop' will be organized in the coming days, where students will learn the art of making decorative candles, offering them practical experience alongside the theoretical knowledge.
The session was organized under the banner of the EDP Cell, with Dr. Ankita Mohindra serving as the Convenor and Dr.Minakshi Hooda as the Co-Convenor. Both played pivotal roles in making this session highly impactful.
EDP cell members - Ms Rachna Kasana, Dr Suman Taneja, Mr Amit Kumar, Ms Kavita Sharma and Ms Omita were also present during the session.
