Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam
A tree plantation program on the occasion of International Youth Day was organised at DAV Centenary College under the campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”. The purpose of the program was not only to enhance plantations but also to inculcate a sense of responsibility towards environmental sustainability among the youth. Dr. Archana Bhatia, the officiating principal of the college, started the campaign by planting the first tree. Dr. Bhatia said that planting a tree is a positive step towards making the environment greener and healthier. She also distributed saplings to students, cadets, volunteers, and staff members and requested that all take this initiative forward in their respective areas.
NSS Programme Officers, Dr. Jitendra Dhull and Kavita Sharma, and NCC CTOs, Dr. Rashmi and Netra Pal Sain, were also present in the event and supported the cause and emphasised the importance of youth participation in environmental conservation. The participants expressed a commitment to make their surroundings greener and contribute to the fight against climate change. More than 100 students, faculty members, NCC cadets, and NSS and YRC volunteers participated enthusiastically in the program.
