DAV Centenary College Students Participate in Civil Defence Volunteers Training
Over 72 enthusiastic students from DAV Centenary College, Faridabad—including NSS & YRC volunteers and NCC cadets—actively participated in a Civil Defence Volunteers Training programme held at the HSVP Convention Centre, Sector 12, Faridabad. The event was jointly organized by the Government of Haryana and the Red Cross Society, aiming to equip young volunteers with essential life saving skills and emergency response techniques during war-like and crisis situations. Dr. Narender Kumar, Officiating Principal of DAV Centenary College, motivated the students to be a part of this movement for the safety of society and the safety of the nation.
The intensive training included practical drills such as Emergency Mobility and Rescue, Fire Escape and Rescue, and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). These hands-on sessions were designed to enhance awareness, preparedness, and responsiveness among the youth during natural and man-made emergencies.
The college contingent was efficiently coordinated by Mr. Dinesh, YRC Counsellor, and Mr. Vivek Sabharwal, Assistant Professor of English department, ensured smooth participation and engagement of students throughout the programme.
The event proved to be a meaningful and empowering experience, instilling in students a deeper sense of responsibility and encouraging them to stand as pillars of strength during times of need.
