Career Counselling Session

A one-day career counselling session was successfully organized on October 14, 2024, for the final year students of B. Com and BBA at DAV Centenary College, Faridabad. The session was a collaborative effort between the Department of Commerce and the Department of Business Administration, along with the GNIOT-Institute of Management Studies (GIMS), Greater Noida. The resource person for the session was Prof. Mudit Tomar from GIMS, who shared valuable insights into the career opportunities available to students after their graduation. He emphasized the importance of aligning one's interests with career choices and highlighted various fields such as management, finance, marketing, and entrepreneurship that students can explore. His address was insightful and offered students a broader understanding of how to navigate their post-graduation careers.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from 100 students, who engaged actively with the speaker, asking questions and seeking guidance on various career-related queries. Prof. Tomar also discussed the role of internships, professional certifications, and higher studies in enhancing employability in today's competitive job market. Dr. Archana Bhatia, the Officiating Principal of DAV Centenary College, graced the session with her presence. She acknowledged the importance of such events in guiding students toward making informed career decisions and expressed her gratitude to Prof. Mudit Tomar and the GIMS team for their collaboration. The session was organized by Ms. Arti Kumari, Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce, and Dr. Nisha Singh. Their efforts in coordinating the event ensured that it ran smoothly and provided a productive platform for students to learn and explore career prospects. Dr. Lalita Dhingra, Dean of Commerce (SFS), was also present during the session, contributing to the encouraging atmosphere for the students.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks extended to the resource person, the organizing committee, and the participants for making the event a success. The event not only motivated the students but also equipped them with the knowledge and tools to plan their future careers effectively.
