Cancer Awareness Program

Cancer awareness program at DAV Centenary College A cancer awareness program was organized by Alumni Association and Women Cell of DAV College in collaboration with Rotary Club Faridabad Sanskriti. The keynote speaker of this program was Dr. Pushpa Sethi, a renowned gynecologist and obstetrician of Gurugram. Dr. Sethi shared that cancer has become a global disease and is spreading rapidly. The healthcare system around the world is facing tough challenges to deal with this problem. Dr. Sethi highlighted the fact that Twenty-seven percent of the world's cancer patients are found in India alone. Awareness about cancer and timely detection is very important. This disease is common in both developing and developed countries but there is still a lack of information about it among the common people. Due to low awareness, the adoption of screening methods and diagnosis are delayed. Dr. Pushpa also provided important information about screening and vaccination of cervical cancer. This awareness program was organized under the guidance of Officiating Principal Dr. Archana Bhatia. Other chief guests included Alumni Association President Rekha Sharma, Vice President Sandeep Singhal, Women Cell Incharge Ruchi Malhotra, Zonal Chair of Cancer Eradication Campaign Rotary Kavita Singhal as well as other women members of Rotary Club. The stage was efficiently managed by Dr. Nisha Singh. About 400 students participated in this program along with faculty Members. Dr. Lalita Dhingra,Dr. Suman Taneja, Dr. Surabhi Mangala, Rajwinder Kaur, Tanu Kwatra, Kavita Sharma, Pinky, Meenakshi Kaushik were also present in the program.
