An Initiative to Foster Mental Health Awareness Among Students

Under the aegis of the National Health Mission and as a part of the “Swasth Bharat Abhiyan” , the Tele MANAS helpline board was inaugurated at D.A.V. Centenary College by the officiating Principal, Dr. Narendra Kumar. This initiative aims to disseminate awareness regarding mental stress, depression, and other psychological challenges among students, while also guiding them towards appropriate support mechanisms.

On this occasion, Dr. Jitender Dhull, in-charge of the NSS Unit, sensitized students about the symptoms, causes, and management strategies related to mental health conditions such as obsession and anxiety.

Additionally, Dinesh Kumar, the YRC Boys’ Counselor, and Omita Johar, the Girls’ Counselor, elaborated on critical mental health issues including depression, psychotic disorders, and epilepsy, shedding light on preventive measures and therapeutic interventions.The event witnessed active participation from volunteers of the YRC and NSS, along with several other students of the college
