Report on DAVCC Alumni Association Scholarship Interview Session 2024-25

On October 22, 2024, DAV Centenary College, in collaboration with the DAV Centenary College Faridabad Alumni Association, conducted a personal interview session for the DAVCC Scholarship program for the academic year 2024-25. This initiative aimed to support deserving students in continuing their education by providing financial assistance.

Objective

The primary objective of the scholarship interview session was to identify and select students who demonstrate academic merit and have a financial need. The focus was on ensuring that the scholarship reaches the most deserving candidates, thereby fostering educational opportunities for underprivileged students.

Participants

A total of 36 students from various courses participated in the interview process. The selection of these students was conducted by Ms. Rekha Sharma, President of the Alumni Association, who pre-screened candidates based on their academic achievements and financial circumstances.

Interview Process

The interview session featured personal assessments by the following committee members:

The committee engaged with each student to evaluate their academic potential, aspirations, and financial needs. This personal interaction provided a comprehensive understanding of each candidate's situation, facilitating an informed selection process.

Outcome

As a result of the interviews, 15 students were awarded scholarships for the year. Each selected student will receive Rs. 7,000 towards their college fees, amounting to a total scholarship fund of Rs.1,05,000 (15 students x Rs. 7,000). This financial support will significantly aid these students in pursuing their academic goals and alleviate some of the burdens associated with educational expenses.

Dr. Archana Bhatia, Officiating Principal of DAV Centenary College, commended the efforts of the Alumni Association for their unwavering commitment to empowering underprivileged students. The event was successfully organized under the guidance of the Scholarship Committee members, including Dr. Jitender Dhull (Convenor) and Ms. Arti Kumari (Co-Convenor), Dr. Minakshi Hooda (Member) who ensured a smooth execution and transparency throughout the selection process. Through this initiative, the DAV Centenary College and its Alumni Association are making a meaningful impact on the lives of students in need, helping them to achieve their academic aspirations.
