11th International Yoga Day

On the occasion of the 11th International Yoga Day, NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, YRC members, sportspersons, teaching and non-teaching staff of DAV Centenary College, Faridabad, collectively celebrated the day with great enthusiasm. Under the guidance of Officiating Principal Dr. Narender Kumar and Yoga Instructor Umesh Kumar, all participants performed various yoga asanas with discipline and dedication. Dr. Narender Kumar drew attention to the official logo and the tagline of this year’s Yoga Day—“Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” He explained that just as 75% of the Earth is covered with water, similarly, the human body is made up of 75% water, and yoga is essential to keep it clean, healthy, beautiful, and disease-free. He emphasized that for a healthy society—including academic institutions like colleges—yoga must become an integral part of daily life. He encouraged sports instructors and faculty members to incorporate yoga into the regular curriculum in the upcoming academic session. Under the leadership of NCC CTO Netrapal Sain, the college’s cadets also participated in the main International Yoga Day event held at the Sports Complex, Sector-12, representing the “1 Haryana Naval Unit NCC.” The week-long yoga camp organized in the college concluded today with the celebration of International Yoga Day. Over the course of the week, the camp fostered a spirit of positivity, discipline, and awareness regarding the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga. The event was enthusiastically organized in the college premises by the Department of Physical Education and the Yoga Cell in collaboration with NCC, NSS, YRC, IQAC, Women Cell, Swami Vivekananda Youth Club, Anti-Tobacco and Drug De-addiction Committee, and the Environment Club. Notably, YRC Counselor Omita Johar, NSS Program Officer Kavita Sharma, and NCC CTO Dr. Rashmi participated actively in the yoga sessions, spreading the message of health and wellness to all.
